Eric L. Thompson

It is with profound sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Eric Lee Thompson, 51, of Conneaut, OH. Eric passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at University Hospital Conneaut Medical Center, with his devoted wife of 25 years by his side.

Born on November 11, 1972, in Conneaut, OH, Eric was the beloved son of Mary Lee (Eimers) and the late Ronald Lee Thompson.

Eric graduated from Conneaut High School in 1991, where he proudly played for the CHS football team. He furthered his education at Kent State University and Akron University, majoring in electrical engineering. In 1998, Eric married the love of his life, Michele Shean. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless cherished moments. Eric found joy in spending time with his wife and children, riding snowmobiles with friends, golfing, and watching NASCAR races.

Eric’s professional journey was marked by his dedication and versatility at The Conneaut Telephone Company, where he was proud to be a third-generation employee following in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps. Over the years, he excelled in numerous roles including lineman, installer, troubleshooting technician and headend engineer.

Eric is survived by his loving wife, Michele; his treasured children, Davey, Danny, and Mikayla; his mother and stepfather, Mary Lee and Mark Coxon; his siblings, Michele Otto, Chris (Mike) Myers, and Adam (Jaime) Coxon; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Eric was preceded in death by his father; brother-in-law, Dale Otto; maternal grandparents, Jack and Betty Eimers; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Arlene Thompson.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 5-7 pm at Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio.

On Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 11 am, there will be a Funeral Mass at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, Ohio.

Eric's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
