Ernest LeRoy "Ernie" Waid

Ernest L. “Ernie” Waid, 90, of Conneaut passed away January 11, 2022 at the Ashtabula County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  He was born May 14, 1931 in Hartstown, Pa.  The son of Benjamin & Viola (McKnight) Waid.

Ernie served in US Air Force during the Korean War.

He retired from the Bessmer railroad as a conductor.

Ernie was a faithful member and usher at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed yardwork, crossword puzzles coaching baseball at CLYO. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan.

Survivors include his wife Phyllis (Arkelin); children, Kim Esposito and Keith (Angela) Waid; grandchildren, Benjamin, McKinlee and Emilee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, John, Bill, David, Velma, Wilda Boggs and A. Pearl Giles.

Celebration of Life will be held later date.
