Esther L. (Brown) Gibson

Esther L. Gibson, 101, of Wilkes Barre, PA, passed away Monday morning, October 27, 2025 at Allied Hospice in Wilkes Barre, PA. She was born February 29, 1924 to William and Jessie (Livingston) Brown in Waycross, GA.

Esther was a teacher’s aide for Head Start and a member of Wilkes Barre Jehovah’s Witness. She loved traveling, taking cruises and taking different excursions with her sister-in-law who she grew up with, and making everything from scratch in the kitchen.

Esther and her husband Clifford Gibson, Sr., shared a deep love and enjoyed making homemade ice cream together.

Survivors include her daughter Gloria (Harold) Adams of Albion, PA; son Clifford Gibson, Jr. of Wilkes Barre, PA; granddaughter Marcella Adams of Maxwell, TX; and great-granddaughter Taylor Knowles of Maxwell, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons Philip and Daniel Gibson; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1240 Scott St. Wilkes Barre, PA, 18705. Inurnment will take place in Twin Hill Memorial Park.
