Eugenia Jane Fiala

It is with a heavy heart that we announce Eugenia Jane Fiala, 78, of Gainesville, FL, passed away on March 3rd, 2022. 

She was born in Conneaut, Ohio, on June 19th, 1943 to Joe and Juliana Fiala. Jean, as she was affectionately known, worked as the Deputy Clerk at the City of Gainesville for 24 years.

She was an avid scrapbooker, baker, photographer, genealogist, and world traveler. Jean traveled to Europe several times with her cousin Leo Shor, daughter Jeannine Schweinberg, and son Rick Schweinberg. Each summer for many years Jean passed on her love for traveling by road-tripping across America with her son Ron Schweinberg, and grandchildren, Brandi Schweinberg, and Jessica Abraham. 

She was survived by son Richard E. Schweinberg, son Ron Schweinberg, granddaughter Jessica Abraham (husband Clay Abraham), granddaughter Brandi Schweinberg (fiancé John Stuart), and great-granddaughter Esmerae Stuart. 

Memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday March 26th, 2022 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut with Fr. Philip Miller officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  

Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of the memorial service.
