Evelyn Marie Boeson – Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend

Evelyn Marie Boeson loved her family and friends, dedicated her life to teaching and helping others and pursued her favorite hobbies of sewing, quilting, cooking, reading, and playing the organ with both passion and enthusiasm. Throughout her life, her family and friends benefited from her sharp mind, calm demeanor, and steady thoughtful guidance. She always put the needs of others before her own and was rewarded with life-long friendships that she cherished deeply. Evelyn died peacefully at her residence in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (near her son Jason) on October 8th, 2023, at the age of 78.

Evelyn was born on April 4, 1945, in Chardon, Ohio, to Milan and Kathleen Robinson. She graduated from Cardinal High School in 1963 and went on to attend Hiram College, where she graduated with a BS in Education in 1967. After teaching history and social studies for several years at Berkshire high school in Burton and Rowe middle school in Conneaut, Evelyn earned her Master’s of Education and accepted a position as a guidance counselor at Pymatuning Valley middle school in Andover where she worked until her retirement in 2010.

Evelyn loved to sew and spent much of her free time in her beloved sewing room at home which was always bursting at the seams with swatches of fabric and the beautiful quilts she created. She was a founding member of the Conneaut Quilt Club and was recognized for teaching traditional and innovative quilting classes, design workshops and overnight retreats. She won numerous awards for her quilts and exhibited them in several states. Evelyn also loved to cook and bake and always spoiled her family with delicious home cooked meals and treats, something her grandchildren will miss the most. Evelyn had a strong faith in God and was a founding member of the First Church of God Cherry Valley where she played the organ every Sunday for almost 20 years.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and late husband, A. Richard Boeson, who died on November 17, 2020.

She is survived by her son Jason (Kristin) Boeson; her grandchildren Griffin, Luke, Owen, Jackson, Ella, and Sophia; her brother Tom (Linda) Robinson, and nephew Justin.

She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Funeral Service Wednesday, October 18, 2023, 1:30 PM at Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty Street, Conneaut, OH 44030. Visitation will be from 1:00 until the time of the service at 1:30 PM.
