Evelyn J. (Cole) Burchfield

Evelyn J. Burchfield, 96, of Conneaut passed away Wednesday September 14, 2022 at Ashtabula County Medical Center.  She was born January 24, 1926 in Conneaut, Ohio.  The daughter of Frank and Theodora (Kent) Cole, Sr.

She retired from for the Astatic Corp. as a secretary to the purchasing agent.  After her retirement she married Rev. Leonard Burchfield.  Evelyn was a very supportive Pastors wife. Helping him in any way that she could, always there by his side every step of the way during his ministry.

Evelyn belonged to Wesleyan Methodist Church in Conneaut where she was a class leader, and taught Sunday School.

Survivors include her siblings, Carolyn (Thomas) Rodgers, June Chess, Arlene Cole, Patricia (Donald) Horwood, Dorma (Ron) Ebersole, Linda (James) Fralic, and Janice (Wesley) Patterson; stepdaughter, Phyllis (Arnold) Fitzgerald; one step granddaughter and four step great-grandchildren; sister in laws Patricia Cole and Arlene Cole.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Leonard Burchfield; sisters Marian Sammis, Catherine LaPlace, Shirley Huston, brothers, William, Thomas, Merle and Frank Cole.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday September 19, 2022 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut where the family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 PM Sunday September 18, 2022 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in East Conneaut Cemetery, Conneaut.

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Wesleyan Methodist Church.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
