Frances A. (Morris) Gonda

Frances A. “Fran” Gonda, 85, of Monroe Township, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 30, 2022 with her son Tony and sister Kathy by her side. She was born August 20, 1936, the daughter of Steve and Irene (Horvath) Morris.

Fran was raised in the Cleveland area and moved to Conneaut in 1964 and worked for General Electric for over forty years. She was raised Catholic, attending Catholic school for all twelve years.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, they were her main priority. She was a wonderful mother, sister, friend, and companion, and will be missed forever.

She was an avid collector of Elvis memorabilia and had a passion for his music. If you were ever to visit, you knew she had a huge heart for animals, especially her cats. Sports were entertaining to her, and she loved to watch the Cleveland Browns and Guardians play while in season. She also loved to watch the Andy Griffith Show and Golden Girls.

Fran is survived by her loving children Anthony Gonda, Christine (Mathew) Bovee, Terry Harris, Tammy Williams, Tracy Gonda and Tricia Gonda; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; her sister Kathy Rzotkiewicz; and bother Tommy (Sally) Morris.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Ronald whom she married in 1954; two sons, one shortly after birth and Thomas in infancy; grandson T.J. Taylor; Sister Virginia George; brother-in-law Dave Rzotkiewicz; nephew Lenny Levaskevich; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Joseph and Mary Tihansky.

Funeral service will be May 9, 2022, at The Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe Township.

Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at noon.

Memorial Contributions can be made in Fran’s name to the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
