Gerald “Bill” W. Myers, 81, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home Monday, February 7, 2022. He was born December 26, 1940, in Lake City, PA, the son of Alfred and Margurite (McMillen) Myers.
Bill graduated from Conneaut High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge, he worked for Glidden Durkee as a chemical operator retiring after 31 years in 1999. He was a member of the Conneaut Eagles, Moose Lodge, and VFW, and the Monroe Athletic Club. He enjoyed hunting, camping, bowling on Wednesday at Papa Joe’s and also couples bowling with his wife in the Saturday league, and being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Janice (Woodworth) Myers; daughter Robin (Louis) Aponte; stepchildren Robin Zappitelli, Shelley (Rob) Fertig, David (Bonnie) Howland, and James (Tammie) Miller; his sister Betty (Frank) Scalise; grandchildren Chuck Fultz, Kristin Overly, Dan, Jeremy, and Ann Zappitelli, Robert, Nate, Matthew and Nick Howland, Jessica Nutter, Brandon Arcaro, Ashley Lehtonen, and James Miller; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Delores; sisters LuLu at birth, Thelma, and Ella; brothers Walter, Pete, Melvin, Chuck, and Albert; grandson Timothy Howland; and son-in-law, Daniel Zappitelli.
At Bill’s request, no services will be held at this time. The Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., has been entrusted with arrangements.
