Gordon Hill Obituary

Gordon R. Hill, 95, of Albion, PA, passed away peacefully at Edinboro Manor on Sunday, November 23, 2025. He was born on April 28, 1930, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Roy and Lena (Huston) Hill.

Gordon proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After returning home, he worked for Kibblers Foundry and then spent the rest of his career as a machinist with Copes Vulcan retiring after many dedicated years. Alongside his professional work, Gordon lived the true spirit of a hardworking farm life raising beef cattle and helping out at the Albion Fair. He continued to stay active after retirement working at his son's butcher shop LeBoeuf Meats.

He was a lifetime member of the Girard American Legion Post #494, Albion Businessmen, and Machinist Union. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and being outdoors.

Up until September, he was very active, Gordon would drive all over in his big truck, mow his own lawn and brush hog.

Gordon was known to his family as Pop or Papa. He especially cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His love for family was evident in everything he did.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law Margaret Hill four grandchildren Sue (Jim) McClelland, Kelly Bernhardt, Lance (Shilo) Hill, and Jacob Hill; seventeen great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Grace Hill; his son, Arnold Hill; three sisters in infancy; sisters Margaret Hill, Lucille Showalter, Evelyn Krieder, Wilma Shiley, and brother Laurin Hill.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 28, at 12:00 PM at The Marcy Funeral Home, officiated by his nephew, Rev. Randy Hites. Burial will follow in Kelloggsville Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cranesville Volunteer Fire Department or West County Paramedics. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
