Helen M. Lundgren, of Conneaut, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the age of 91 with her children by her side. She was born June 19, 1930, in Conneaut, the daughter of Will and Mary (Hawkins) Stewart. She married Frank Donald Lundgren in 1949. In 1974 they started Lundgren’s Refrigeration in Conneaut where she was secretary for 18 years until they retired on January 1, 1993. Helen was a lifelong member of the First Congregational UCC, where she had served as church council member, Sunday school teacher and vacation bible school teacher. She worked the soup luncheons and was part of the “Kitchen Angels” crew.
She enjoyed playing cards with her family and church friends, crocheting, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed 50 years of bowling in the leagues at El Camp Lanes until the pandemic.
Survivors include her daughter Terri (Bill) Gross of Hampton, VA; sons William (Clara) Lundgren, and Mark (Janet) Lundgren of Conneaut; grandchildren Sheila (James) Barbosa of Cranberry Twp, PA, Nathan Lundgren of Conneaut, Corry (Katelyn) Gross of Virginia Beach, VA, Kody (Gabby) Gross of Mathews, VA, Kirby Gross of Hampton, VA, Sam Lundgren (Amanda Fisher) of Conneaut, Luke Lundgren of Conneaut, and Chrissy (Sean) Alderman of Liberty, Twp, OH; eight great-grandchildren; and granddaughter-in-law Jamie Dalrymple of Conneaut. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law Clarice Stewart of Conneaut, Dorothy Lundgren of Pickerington, OH, longtime friend Betty Lynn of Conneaut, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank Lundgren in 2004, grandson Christopher Matthew Lundgren, grandson Don Lundgren and his wife Beth, brother Clair Stewart, and sister Frances Basen.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Pastor Frank Walford of First Congregational UCC officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M.
