Henry Edmond Holz, 93, of Conneaut, Ohio, peacefully passed away after sharing a prayer with loved ones at Lake Pointe Nursing Home, September 18, 2020.
Hank was born in Sandusky and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1946. He married Patricia Lorraine Hunt in 1949 and they enjoyed 64 years of “dancing” together.
Early in Hank’s life he was the leader of his swing orchestra, Henry Holz’s Rhythm Knights. He was a United States Navy veteran, worked for a short time with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, in Washington, DC., then spent 20 years helping others secure their family interests as an insurance agent with Western & Southern Life. He was involved in the community while his children were young and enjoyed his time as a member of the Moose Lodge, the AMVETS and the VFW.
In his retirement years, Hank spent much of his time traveling with his wife between Ohio and Florida. Along with being an avid golfer, he enjoyed being outside whether in the garden or on the water cruising in his Lyman boat. Hank never met a stranger he didn’t want to share a story with, and he could make any song sound like swing as he played the piano well into his 80’s. He was a generous man, always willing to help someone less fortunate and would share a joke or two to lift their spirits. “We had a fun time at your party”, thanks for the memories!
He is survived by his two children; Henry Valentine of Columbus, Ohio and Patrice Suzzanne of Alexandria, Virginia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
His family invites you to join them for a memorial service on Monday, September 28th at 1:00 PM at South Ridge Baptist Church, 924 Center Road, Conneaut, Ohio.
Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, has been entrusted with arrangements.
