Jack L. Furry

Former Conneaut resident Jack L. Furry, 86, of Sebring, FL, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019. He was born April 8, 1933 in Charleston, Illinois and lived most of his life in Conneaut, Ohio. Jack attended and graduated from Rowe in May 1952, playing many sports. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy, and was honorably discharged in 1956. On June 17, 1954, Jack married his high school sweetheart Doris (Blood) Furry. After his discharge, they lived in Conneaut until 1982, moving to Colorado, until retirement in 1994. They then moved to Sebring, Florida, and he enjoyed retirement playing softball, bowling, and of course golfing with his buddies.

Survivors include his loving wife Doris; his daughters Ranae King of Brooksville, FL, Denise Godenschwager of Sebring, FL, Deborah (Keith) Sterling of Lake Wales, FL, and Jacquelyn Furry of Sebring, FL; grandchildren Nicole (William) Norris, Travis Godenschwager, Brandon Godenschwager, James King, and Jozlyn Sterling; eleven great-grandchildren; his brother John W. Furry, Jr.; and his sister Delta Lou Newell.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ada Pearl Furry; his son Marc (Diane) Furry; and his grandson Michael King.

Graveside services for will be 2PM, Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Rt. 20, North Kingsville, OH, with Tim Kraus of the Church of Christ officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Cowle Post #151.
