James Ackroyd Obituary

James C. Ackroyd, 81 of Conneaut passed away Friday September 25, 2020 at Carington Park in Ashtabula. He was born September 2, 1939 in East Cleveland. The son of Charles & Lina (Patterson) Ackroyd.

James graduated from Willoughby Union High School. He served in the US Army before being honorably discharged. James retired from CT Consultants in 2010 as an inspector. He has been of resident of Conneaut for the past twenty-six years.

He belonged to the American Legion Cowle Post 151, Moose Lodge in Conneaut. James enjoyed canoe racing in the mad hatter’s race every year he could.

Survivors include his wife Carol (Love) whom he married on October 17, 1989; three step children; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Joel, Clifford and one at birth.

At James request no services or calling hours will be held.
