James Long Obituary

James G.  “Jim” Long, 57, of Monroe Twp., Ohio passed away Sunday March 26, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born November 28, 1965 in Erie, Pa, the son of John and Mildred (Chilenski) Long II.

He graduated from Northwestern High School  and from Erie County Technical School in 1984.

Jim was a programmer for PHB Die Casting in Fairview, PA for thirty-five years.

He enjoyed stock car racing at Raceway 7 from 1993-2011, and for the last nine years he was a crew member for his son Joe’s car. Jim also loved camping at Evergreen Campgrounds in Conneaut with his wife Dar. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins & Steeler fan attending games with his son.

Survivors include his wife Darlene “Dar” whom he married on June 26, 1986; son Joe Long; grandson Trevor, mother Mildred, and a sister Julie Pazun.

He was preceded in death by his father, son Josh Long and a brother, John Long III.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM Saturday April 1, 2023 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio.

The family suggest memorial contributions in Jim’s name be made to the Animal Protective League.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
