James Mullen, Sr. Obituary

James W. "Moe" Mullen, Sr., passed away Friday morning, December 25, 2020 at his residence. He was born July 7, 1928 in Conneaut, and was the son of Edward and Mary (Thiel) Mullen.

James worked for Union Carbide as a pipe fitter and was a member of the Conneaut Eagles Lodge and the American Legion Cowle Post #151. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, dancing, and was an avid sports fan, especially football, and watching the Cleveland Browns.

Survivors include his children Carl (Beth) Mullen of Boynton Beach, FL, Jim Mullen of Lake Worth, FL, Kim (Steve) Murphy of Geneva, and Donald Mullen of Conneaut; nine grandchildren, Amanda Mullen of Gastonia, NC, Edward (Erica) Mullen of Gastonia, NC, John (Anne) Bernardo of Austinburg, OH, Angela (Jeff) Gowdy of Painesville, OH, Tim Mullen of Boynton Beach, FL, Jimmy and Justin Mullen both of Conneaut, Lin-Zee Mullen of Monroe, OH and Dakota Mullen of Erie, PA, numerous great-grandchildren; and his sister Dorothy Dicanio of Montvale, NJ.

He was preceded in death by his wife Caroline; grandson Carl Patrick Mullen; and sisters Mary Boggs, Alice Babcock, Frances Greer, and Geraldine McMillen; and brothers Ed, Don, William, Al, and Ray Mullen.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic there will be no public calling hours, funeral service will be private on Saturday January 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. Funeral service will be livestreamed for public viewing on the Marcy Funeral  Home FACEBOOK page.
