Janet O. (Spencer) Smith

Janet O. Smith, 95, of Conneaut, former resident of The Villa at the Lake, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2021 at Saybrook Landing, Saybrook Township, OH. She was born November 8, 1925 in Richmond Township, OH, the daughter of Klein and Nellie (Evans) Spencer.

Janet was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Conneaut. She enjoyed singing with Sweet Adeline’s International, quilting, sewing, refinishing furniture, and was an avid reader. Janet’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters Patricia (Glenn) Brakeman of Jamestown, PA, Priscilla (Douglas) Hadley of Pikeville, TN, and Susan Druktenis of Ashtabula, OH; her sisters Joan Burns of Albion, PA, and Sandra Hill of Cleveland, OH; her brother David Spencer of South Carolina; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carlton Smith; her son Hugh Lyman, III; sisters Mildred Spencer, Ruth Boggs, Jean Brockett, and Claudia Jewell; and her brothers Robert, Victor, and John Spencer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
