Jo Ann (Fitzwater) Dye

September 7, 1941 ~ June 5, 2020 (age 78)


Former Conneaut resident, Mrs. Jo Ann (Donald) Dye, 78, loving wife and mother of two, passed away Friday, June 5, 2020. She was born September 7, 1941 in Sparks, WV to Josie and Fred Fitzwater.

She graduated from Ashtabula High School in Ashtabula, OH.  Jo Ann had 3 siblings; Betty Jean Fitzwater, Billy Fitzwater, and Carol Sue (Fitzwater) Hall.

On February 12, 1966, she married Donald Ray Dye. Don and Jo Ann lived in Sun City, AZ, and were married 54 years. They raised two children, Shawn, and Stacy, who both currently reside in Colorado. Jo Ann spent 24 years with Federated Insurance, retiring in 2011 with many lasting friendships.

Jo Ann had a passion for cooking, baking, and loved to spend time in the kitchen trying new recipes. She also loved spending time with her 6 year old granddaughter Avery Ann Dye (Shawn’s daughter.) She was truly a selfless person who always put her family first.  Her warm smile, caring nature, endless energy, and sense of humor will be missed by anyone who knew and loved her.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her father Fred; her mother Josie; her stepfather Elmo L. Skaggs; her sister Betty Jean; and brother Billy.

She is survived by her husband Donald of Sun City, AZ; her son Shawn of Breckenridge, CO; her daughter Stacy of Denver, CO; and sister Carol Sue (Fitzwater) Hall of Cortland, OH.
