Joyce L. (Jewell) Dunford

Joyce L. Dunford, 89, of Conneaut and formerly of Dorset passed away December 16, 2022 at the Harrington Home in Conneaut.

Joyce was born in Dorset, Ohio to Dale and Alice (Zaebst) Jewell on January 13, 1933.  She attended Dorset High School.  Joyce had many jobs throughout her life and worked for many years in the meat department at Stop-N-Shop and Knights Meat Market in Jefferson.  Before her retirement she worked several years in the Vision Center in Walmart.

Joyce enjoyed following her children’s sports activities, especially softball and basketball.  She also loved playing cards, dancing, wintering in Florida and hosting family picnics.  She was a loving and supportive mother and grandma.

Joyce is survived by her children, Wendy (Dan) Fink of Dorset, Laura Henson of Ashtabula, Cindy (Dan) Blank of Conneaut, Dale Dunford of Ashtabula, and Kim Dunford of Roaming Shores; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Stanford and Russell Jewell, her husband Gene Kirby and her beloved granddaughter Joyce (Dunford) Miller.

Per her wishes no services will be held. There will be a private burial later in Dorset Cemetery.

The arrangements have been entrusted to the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
