Karen L. Picard, 63 of Conneaut, died December 12, 2020 at Geauga Medical Center from medical complications. She was born May 26, 1957 in Conneaut and was daughter of Roy and Janet (Julio) Woodworth.
Karen was a member of Corpus Christi Parish. She graduated from Conneaut High School and went on to receive her associate degree from Kent State in accounting. Her degree from Kent helped her strive throughout her career with the Conneaut Telephone Company, beginning as a front desk clerk and retiring after 38 years as the CFO and was currently still on the board as a director.
She enjoyed doing many different crafts including scrapbooking, making cards for family and friends, designing and making invitations, and was known for her great sewing skills.
Survivors include her husband Tom Picard of Conneaut, whom she married November 8, 1986; two step children Renae (Denny Burr) Picard and Jason Picard of Conneaut; Grandchildren Shain (Autumn) Picard, Megan (Brad) Webber, Ryan Picard; three sisters Toni (Robert) Wheeler and Belinda (David) Adams, both of Conneaut, and Renee (Cam) Murchison of Waterdown, Ontario; Six nieces Stacey (Mark) Maus, Lisa (Curt) Distel, Lori (Jon) Distel, Roxanne (Gary) Tantari, Michelle (Bobby) Nelson, and Maria Taylor; five nephews Joey Picard, Justin Murchison, Jacob Murchison, Troy (Amanda) Adams, and Deakan Adams; great nieces and nephews Delaney and Wyatt Distel, Robbie, Johnny and Kristiana Distel, Ayden Tantari, Matthew, Katie and Ethan Adams, and RJ, Brenna and Brody Nelson. Also surviving is her beloved Maltese Petunia.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Corpus Christi Parish-St. Frances Cabrini Church, with Father Philip Miller officiating. This is open to the public, but COVID 19 Rules will be followed with masks and social distancing followed. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, OH.
The arrangements have been entrusted to Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center 208 liberty St., Conneaut, OH 44030.
