Keith Drennen Obituary

Mr. Keith Alan Drennen 77 of Conneaut, OH, died Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY., where he had been residing with his daughter and son-in-law.

He was born July 3, 1947 in Youngstown, OH the son of the late Bert and Ethel “Mitzi” (McConnel) Drennen.

He graduated from Conneaut High School in the first graduating class following the merger of Rowe and Conneaut High Schools and worked at Premix until his retirement in 2001.

Keith proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed on the submarine USS Thomas Eddison (SSBN-610). He carried the values of honor and service throughout his life and was a proud member of the Honor Squad for the American Legion Cowl Post #151 in years past. A passionate history enthusiast, Keith could recall dates and stories with remarkable clarity, captivating all who heard his tales.

A true Irishman at heart, Keith embraced his heritage and loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, always finishing the day with a shot of Irish Whiskey. His zest for life extended to his love of motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson. Keith’s love for riding took him on memorable trips, including two dream rides to Sturgis.

A proud son of Ohio, Keith was a die-hard Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan. He enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm for sports and often gathered with family and friends to cheer on his teams.

Keith’s greatest joy was his family, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will never be forgotten. He is survived by his beloved children, Kim Harripersad and her husband Michael, and Keith Drennen Jr. and his wife Natalie; two siblings, Bert Drennen and his wife Carol, and Pam Knight and her husband Jim; his loving grandchildren, Jacob Schoch and his wife Hannah, Adam Schoch, Ben Schoch, Erik Harripersad, Kayla Drennen and Josh Drennen; two great grandchildren, Raya and Ledger Schoch. His niece Caitlin DeSouza and husband Jimmy and their two children, JR. Knight and wife April and their two children, and Patrick Knight.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his longtime companion, Penny Kohlman.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 3, 2025 at East Conneaut Cemetery, Furnace Rd., Conneaut. With military honors conducted by the American Legion Cowle Post #151. Anyone who would like to be in the motorcycle procession, please be at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, by 1:30 PM.
