Kimberly Schwartz Obituary

Kimberly M. Hathy-Schwartz, 51, of Conneaut, passed away early Sunday morning, October 6, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by her family. She was born May 18, 1968 in Conneaut, and was the daughter of Howard and Marilyn (Salo) Hathy.

Kim was a 1986 graduate of Conneaut High School. After graduation, she went to Bowling Green State University and received her bachelor’s degree in 1990. She then went on to Lakeland College for Architectural Design. She was a Quality Engineer working for Motor Panels, and also at Metal Seals in East Lake. Kim even traveled to Paris to work for a while. She then went on to email marketing and web design, and her most exciting job as a travel agent,  owning and operating Kabanatime Travel, and also helping her husband run Schwartz Construction.

She was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post #151 Women’s Auxiliary, the Conneaut Moose Lodge, the Diva Coffee Club in Erie, the Conneaut Music Boosters and Downtown Coaches Club. She loved her lake house, enjoyed cooking, going to concerts, traveling, playing corn hole, loved a good campfire, and was known as the “fire-master,” and hosting her annual Halloween party.

Her family was her number one priority and she supported her children in every activity they chose. Kim was always happy, never met a stranger, and everyone got a hug. She loved her children and her husband deeply and with great passion.

Survivors include her mother Marilyn Hathy of Conneaut; her husband Rueben Schwartz, whom she married July 11, 1998; her daughter Kylee Rayne Schwartz; twin boys Gunnar Satch Schwartz and Moses Christopher Schwartz, all at home; her sisters Nancy (John) Casey, and Pam (John) Hunt both of Conneaut; mother-in-law Kathryn Schwartz of KY, brother-in-law’s Marcus Schwartz of KY, Daniel (Lori) Schwartz of Monroe, Twp., Joseph (Mellissa) Schwartz of Girard, PA, Henry (Grace) Schwartz of Conneaut, and Emanuel (Katie) Schwartz of Roaming Shores; her sister-in-law’s Fanny (Mose) Schmidt of KY, and Ida Schwartz of Beaver Center, PA.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and all the friends who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father Howard “Satch” Hathy; her father-in-law Moses Schwartz; and sister-in-law Christine Schwartz.
