Leta L (Guest) Smith

Leta L. Smith, 84, of Conneaut, passed away Monday evening, September 8, 2025 at

Madison Healthcare, Madison, OH, surrounded by her family. She was born on March

12, 1941 in Conneaut, the daughter of Bennie and Dorothy (Stevens) Guest.

Leta worked for Crawford Container and was a member of West Springfield United

Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing board games, watching her shows and western

movies, listening to music from the 50’s and 60’s, and loved animals. Most of all, she

enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons Bill (Ginny) Smith and John Smith, both of Conneaut;

grandchildren Rusty (Mandy) Smith and Courtney Smith, both of Conneaut; and great-

grandchildren Connor Fischer, Leona Goebel, Taylor Neiman, Bailey Smith, Kennedy

Smith and Temperance Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband William Smith, Sr.

Celebration of life gathering will be Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 2:00-5:00pm at the Marcy Family Center, 180 Harbor St., Conneaut.

Inurnment will be in New Lyme Cemetery.

Contributions may be made in Leta’s memory to Maddox and Friends Cat Rescue, 723Clark St., Conneaut, OH 44030. Envelopes will be available at the gathering and at Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty ST., Conneaut, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
