Lois J. (Loesch) Watson

Lois J. Watson, 90, of Monroe Twp., passed away peacefully at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home Wednesday August 10, 2023. Born December 26, 1932 in Strongsville, Ohio, she was daughter of Earl and Vesta (Johnson) Loesch.

She attended Kelloggsville United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a youth group leader,10 and cub scout leader. Lois will be remembered by many for her telling of Sunday School Charlie stories during VBS. She was most recently a member of Living Water Baptist Church. Lois worked as a classroom aide at Ashcraft School where she also drove school bus.  The Watson family was the host of the covered bridge festival for thirty years.

Lois graduated from Columbia Station High School.  She enjoyed reading, knitting, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, John (Diane) Watson, Jr., Sandy (Randy) Southern, Robert “Duane” Watson, Don (Kathy) Watson, Micah (Maryann) Watson and Gary Watson; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great -great grand kids; sister, Edith Roth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Sr., whom she married October 25,1952, grandson Brad Watson, Great grandson Gary, and a sister, Mary.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday August 15, 2023 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe Twp.
