Louise Eaton Obituary

Louise E. Eaton, 79, of Conneaut, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born December 19, 1941 in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Barko) Padery.

Louise received her degree in nursing from Fenn College and began her career working in the maternity ward at Lake County West.  She helped start the ICU department at Lake County East and retired from Brown Memorial/UH Conneaut Hospital with over 25 years of service. She was ICU manager for several years, initiated their cardiac rehab program and held a risk management position. Louise also served as a cardiac instructor for the paramedic training program and had an active part in initiating the original ICU/paramedic ambulance service in the 70’s. She mentored many nurses throughout her career.

Louise enjoyed her many family trips to Disney World and local amusement parks, watching the sunsets over the Florida coastline and Lake Erie, visiting Niagara Falls, camping locally, bird watching in her back yard and dining and socializing in the area restaurants. Retirement also found her fond of crossword puzzles, a weekly competitive board game with neighbors, lunching with her nursing friends and casual evenings in front of the tv or fireplace with her husband of 54 years.

Friends and family appreciated her thoughtful cards and gifts remembering their special occasions and comforting them through difficult times. Trips to donate items to support the animal protection league were also welcomed with many thanks.

Louise always took pleasure in attending her children and then grandchildren’s activities. From the Doree-ettes, dance classes and pageants, basketball, and karate, to shot put throwing, volleyball, and theatre she was there to support her family through the years. She decorated for the seasons and holidays and hosted family and friends to enjoy those special days. She loved precious moments gifts that captured these memories.

Survivors include her husband, Richard “Dick” Eaton, her son J.R. (Sarah) Eaton of Cleveland; her daughters Mary Lou (Curt) Cramer of Detroit, MI, Kim Coxon of Ashtabula, and Joslin (Dr. William) Seeds of Ashtabula; her grandchildren Joe and Sarah Coxon, and Billy Seeds; and her beloved dog Rosie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Barbara Sbrocco.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish in Conneaut. Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, November 19, 2021 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, OH, with Father Philip Miller officiating.

Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.

Contributions may be made in memory of Louise to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Rd. Ashtabula, OH 44004. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
