Luis Olivas Obituary

Luis M. Olivas, 66, of Conneaut, passed away January 16, 2021 at Pittsburgh Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born April 28, 1954 in Silver City, New Mexico, the son of Rito and Ester (Maldonado) Olivas.

Luis enlisted in the United State Marine Corp serving from 1974 until his honorable discharge in 1977. He worked as a molder at General Aluminum in Conneaut, retiring in 2018.

He attended St. Frances Cabrini church and was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post #151. He enjoyed working on cars, playing the guitar, and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife Jacqueline (Daugherty) Olivas, whom he married August 15, 1992; his daughters Lydia (Theron) Mahumed of Tucson, AZ, and Rose (Rob) Powell, of Fairfield, CA; his sons Victor Olivas of Pittsburgh, PA; Andy Olivas of Painesville, OH, Joe Olivas of Tucson, AZ, and Dusty Ray Olivas of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren Angelica, Jose, Ester, and Iliana Olivas, Isaac, Isaiah, Faith, David, and Elijah Powell, Amar, Manny, and  Noelani Mero, Victoria Willson, and Cassandra and Thace Mahumed; and great-granddaughter Alicia Olivas.

Also surviving is his sister Cecilia Molinar, Norma Cruz, and Gloria Benacourt; and brothers Gilbert and Ronny (MollyAnn) Olivas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Polo Olivas; and twin brothers in infancy.

Graveside service will be 11:30 AM, Saturday January 23, 2021 in St. Joseph Cemetery, Rt. 20, Conneaut, with Father Philip Miller officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Cowle Post #151.
