Lyla A. Kightlinger, 74, of Conneaut, passed away Saturday evening, December 24, 2022 at UH Geneva Medical Center. She was born March 15, 1948 in Conneaut, the daughter of Arthur McCumber and Laura (Jones) Fabish.
Lyla was a graduate of Conneaut High School and worked as a supervisor for 16 years for T & A Truck Stop. She also had worked as an aide for Happy Hearts School and Home Health.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church where she was a very active member, teaching Sunday School, playing piano, helping with funeral meals and fundraisers. Lyla was very faithful to her church.
Lyla enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-granddaughter, babysitting for them and caring for her entire family.
Survivors include her husband Leroy Kightlinger, whom she married June 3, 1967; her daughters Autumn Kightlinger of Ashtabula, and Vicki Kightlinger of Conneaut; and sons Mark (Jean Hazeltine) Kightlinger of Conneaut, and Nicholas Fletcher of Conneaut; grandchildren Ashley Kightlinger, Christian Johnson, and Brandon Johnson, Timothy, Laura, Shelby, and Matthew Conley; and her great-granddaughter Valarie Elvis.
She was preceded in death by her father Arthur and mother Laura; her stepfather Gerald Fabish; her sisters Marie Sterling and Ann Walker; and niece Hannah Chase.
Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon, Friday, December 30, 2022, at the First Assembly of God Church, 389 West Main Rd., Conneaut, with Pastor Christopher Steele officiating.
Friends may call at the church Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at Noon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lyla’s memory to the First Assembly of God. Envelopes will be available at the church and also at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
