Marilyn Hathy Obituary

Marilyn A. Hathy, 85, Of Conneaut, OH, passed away at the Ashtabula County Medical Center on January 4, 2021. She was born on January 14, 1935 to William and Lillian (Humalainen) Salo in Conneaut, OH.

She was a graduate of Conneaut High School and went on to work for General Electric, production control at EMCO and retired from Plycraft here in Conneaut.

Marilyn was a faithful member of the Good Shephard Lutheran Church, where she attended for many years. She belonged to the Conneaut Moose Club #472, American Legion Cowl Post #151 (where she enjoyed to have Stromboli with friends), the Finnish American Ladies and fun loving Coffee Clutch Girls. Her enjoyments were playing cards with friends and in earlier years dancing the “Polka” with her husband Satch, traveling the world, shopping, making dinner (but enjoyed going out to eat even more), but most of all she LOVED being a Mom and Muma. Her daughters and grandchildren were so important to her.

She is survived by her two daughters Nancy (John) Casey and Pam (John) Hunt both of Conneaut; Son in law Rueben Schwartz of Conneaut; sister Carol (Norman) Torttila of Atikokan, Canada; brother Ronald (Bonnie) Salo of Canfield, OH and her precious grandchildren Kylee, Moses and Gunnar Schwartz.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Satch in 2016 and her beloved daughter Kimberly Schwartz in 2019.

Funeral Service will be 1:30pm, January 8, 2021 in the Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, RT 20 in North Kingsville, OH, officiated by Deacon Nancy Guthrie.

Memorial Contributions in Marilyn’s name are requested to be given to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Abiding Memorial fund or to Feed Our Vets. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the chapel service.
