Martha S. (Niemi) Lillie

Martha S. Lillie, 94, of Conneaut, passed away Wednesday morning, October 25, 2023 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. She was born April 29, 1929 in Conneaut, the daughter of Kaarlo and Liisa (Somppi) Niemi.

Martha graduated from Conneaut High School and received an associate degree from Kent State University. She worked as the secretary to the director of Happy Hearts School for several years.

She was very active in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for many years, sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher.

Martha was married to Adelbert W. Lillie for 56 years and they enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Texas for winter seasons.

Survivors include her daughter Selene (Roy) Bean; her son Kurt (Lisa) Lillie; grandchildren Lisa Bean, Jason (Susan) Bean, and Devin Lillie; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Adelbert Lillie in 2004.

Private family services will be held at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Rev. Joshua Krenz of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating. Inurnment will take place in Center Cemetery.
