Former Conneaut resident, Mary Lee Coxon, 81 of Rock Hill, SC, passed away June 14, 2026 after a brief illness with her family by her side. She was born November 23, 1944 in Conneaut, the daughter of Jack and Betty (Walter) Eimers.
Mary graduated from Rowe High School in 1962. She later graduated from Kent State University Ashtabula Campus as a registered nurse. She spent her career at UH Hospitals working for Brown Memorial Hospital where she retired.
After retiring, Mary and her husband Mark relocated to Rock Hill, SC. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed entertaining in which you would find a large feast to enjoy at any event she hosted. She also loved her many visits to the ocean. Before moving to SC, she enjoyed her weekly Coffee Club get-togethers held at the home of Kathy Horwood.
Survivors include her husband Mark Coxon of Rock Hill, SC, whom she married in Conneaut in 1982; her daughters Michele Thompson-Otto, Christine (Michael) Thompson-Myers; son Adam (Jaime) Coxon; grandchildren Stephanie (Joshua) Post of Ashtabula, Heather (Matthew) Daubenspeck of Rock Hill, SC, Nicholas (Emma) Myers, Justin (Nichole) Myers and Nathan Myers of Conneaut, Davey, Danny and Mikayla Thompson of Conneaut; Ellie, Cate, Maddox and Jovie Coxon of Fort Mill, SC. Great-Grandchildren, Savannah and Parker Post of Ashtabula; Liam, Otto and Zander Daubenspeck of Rock Hill SC; Maisy and Wesley Myers, and Rowan, Rylan and Lainey Myers all of Conneaut; sisters Kathleen (Douglas) Simpson of Delaware, OH, and Susan (George) Nine of Conneaut; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Ronald L. Thompson, son Eric L. Thompson, and son-in-law Dale R. Otto.
A private burial will be held for her family.
Celebration of life will be held this fall and will be announced by the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which is assisting the family with local arrangements.
