Mary E. "Betty" (Blood) Holmstrom

Mary E. “Betty” Holmstrom, 91, of Conneaut passed away Saturday October 17, 2020 at Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center in Akron.  She was born January 5, 1929 in Conneaut, the daughter of Edgar & Mary (Powell) Blood, Sr.

Betty worked for Dr. Ricaurte for seventeen years retiring in 1989.

She enjoyed reading, quilting, volunteered quilting at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and being with her family and friends.

Betty was a member and past secretary of Lone Star Grange #1610, Sheffield Star Grange, and a member of the Finnish Heritage Association.

Survivors include her children, Holly (Brian) Terpos, Lisa Nida.; grandchildren, Taylor (Dakota), Nick, Matt, Brett, Melissa and Andrew; sisters, Wilma Sawyer, Nancy Mullins and Norma Wheeler, and her brothers, William Blood and Richard Blood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell; son Mauri Holmstrom; brothers, David & Edgar, Jr.; and her sister Lois Stallsmith

Funeral service will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday October 24, 2020 at the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic mask are required and social distancing will be observed.  Limited seating will be available for the service.

Burial will follow at East Conneaut Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Leaf United Methodist Church.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
