She enjoyed sewing and knitting, especially slippers, Afghan's, and making dresses for her family. And as her family observed she could sew just about anything probably with her eyes closed. She loved a good family get-together, especially Christmas. When her little house would be bursting at the seams with children.

She was a member of Cherry Hill Grange and enjoyed going to parades.

Mary Jane loved her children. She had a huge mother's heart, taking in foster children along with raising eight children she loved so much. She enjoyed hosting family dinners on Sundays after church and holiday gatherings for her family.
