Mary Jane (Marcy) Lamp

On July 3, 2018, at the age of 96, Mary Jane (Marcy) Lamp passed away quietly at the home she shared with her daughter in Fernandina Beach, Florida.  Born in Conneaut, Ohio, Mary was the daughter of Hugh and Mabel (Horn) Marcy, and the sister of Chuck. After finishing her education at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing in Cleveland, she served in the Army Nurse Corp during World War II.  Returning home, she married her childhood love Charles W. “Chuck” Lamp. Having adventurous spirits, they lived, worked, and traveled extensively in many parts of the United States and abroad.  Through her work and her open door policy at home, Mary kept active relationships with cherished relatives and friends across the country and generations.  Mary is survived by her children Bill Lamp, Barbara Peeples, and Sandra Gaukel; her granddaughters Lydia, Sarah, Anna, and Robyn; and great-granddaughters Olivia and Kate.  She loved and was loved by many and will be missed as she begins her next big adventure.  A celebration in Mary’s honor will be held August 20, 2018 beginning at 5:00 PM at 409 S.
