Nancy L. (Smith) Batchelor

Nancy L. Batchelor, 92, of Conneaut, passed away Tuesday, June 9. 2026 at Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born March 16, 1934 in Albion, PA, the daughter of Reggie Smith Sr., and Isla (Fuller) Howard.

Nancy graduated from the Andrews School for Girls and worked for several companies throughout the area, including the Astatic Corporation, Premix, and the Eighmy Corporation. She later served as a supervisor at MFG before retiring.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Conneaut Moose #472, and enjoyed reading and gardening.

Nancy was known to many generations as Grandma Buttons or Grammies and will be missed by all.

Survivors include her husband of Almost 60 years, Douglas L. Batchelor, whom she married October 6, 1966; daughter Wendy (Brian) DuBey of Conneaut; sons Mark (Louise) Batchelor of Glen Burnie, MD, Rod Batchelor of Colorado Springs, CO, and Tom Batchelor of Conneaut; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and counting; and brother Larry Howard of Mesa, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Tom Howard; daughter Tracy Walker; son Christopher Wiggins; grandson Sgt. Thomas Cole Walker; and brothers Ronald “Jake” Smith and Reggie Smith.

Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 PM, Tuesday, June16, 2026 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut., which is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to New Leaf Childcare Center, 110 Gateway Ave., Conneaut, OH 44030. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
