Nancy Evans Obituary

Nancy M. Evans, 83, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully Thursday morning,

December 18, 2025, at UH Geauga Hospital.

She was born on December 30, 1941, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Raymond

J. Niemla and Esther (Johnson) Niemla. Nancy was raised in West Springfield,

Pennsylvania, where she attended school and graduated from Northwestern High

School, Class of 1959, the first graduating class of Northwestern.

Following high school, Nancy attended Michael’s Beauty Academy in Erie, PA. After

graduating, she worked in Erie for a year before opening her own business, Nancy’s

Beauty Salon, in West Springfield, later in Albion. Her passion for the beauty industry

and education led her to continue advancing her skills throughout her life. Nancy

furthered her education at J.H. Thompson Beauty Academy, where she later became an

instructor, teaching for approximately 10 years. She went on to teach at Toni & Guy

Beauty Academy in Erie, Pennsylvania, traveling frequently to New York City and

working with students on the runway. Throughout her career, Nancy worked alongside

some of the top stylists in the country, including experiences in Chicago, California,

Dallas, and Puerto Rico, earning recognition including National Gold Star honors. She

also worked with Vo-Ed programs in Jefferson, Ohio, dedicating herself to educating

and inspiring the next generation of hairstylists.

As a young woman, Nancy was musically gifted and enjoyed entertaining others, often

imitating Elvis Presley, Bill Haley, and the Comets, and participating in various

community entertainment projects.

On April 18, 1964, Nancy married the love of her life, Gary W. Evans, and together they

shared 61 wonderful years of marriage.

Nancy loved meeting people, traveling, and was always passionate about continuing

education and keeping up with new standards in her profession. She was active in the

Easter Star as a W. M. and a representative to Puerto Rico. Above all, she cherished

time spent with her family.
