Neal B. Blood, 84, of Conneaut, OH passed away December 6, 2025 at Ashtabula Regional Medical Center in Ashtabula, OH. He was born February 4, 1941 to Wayne and Francis (Hazen) Blood in Conneaut, OH.
Upon graduating from Springfield High School in 1958, Neal enlisted in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge from the service, he began his own logging business, known as Neal Blood Logging. After retirement, he enjoyed driving his Amish friends around, including working with and for his partner and friend, Henry Shetler.
Neal had a passion for the outdoors and loved hunting, trapping, and fishing, including fly fishing and being out on his boat in Lake Erie. Throughout his life, Neal spent an untold amount of time in the woods and in streams with his sons, brothers, father, uncles, and cousins, and will be warmly remembered for his storytelling abilities. He had many hobbies, from building model airplanes, flying planes with the Radio Flyer club, raising chinchillas and bees, and racing stock cars at Race Way 7 for over twenty years, to making maple syrup, cooking, baking pies, and making cider and jams. He also enjoyed gardening, trains, and traveling to the Midwest and the Rocky Mountains to see the beautiful mountains, rivers, and elk. Most of all, Neal enjoyed being with his family, having beach days, roasting hot dogs, going to amusement parks and attending sporting events. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren deeply, and having them all together for family gatherings would fill his heart with joy.
Neal was blessed with a large, loving family who survive him, including two daughters, Tersa (John) Bonifant of Portales, NM and Kristine (Alex) Wynn of Clovis, NM; four sons, Aaron Blood and Cody (Nichele) Blood, both of Conneaut, OH, Bryan Blood of Ft.
