Patricia “Patty” A. (Gifford) Mauri, 65, of Conneaut passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Conneaut on March 1, 1957; the daughter of Robert and Boneita (McCluskey) Gifford.
Patty was a 1975 graduate of Conneaut High School. She worked for many years at the former Webb Manufacturing, Tops Friendly Market, and Home Depot, where she retired in 2018.
Patty was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers fan. She enjoyed attending her great nieces’ dance and sporting events, flower gardening, and watching HGTV and General Hospital. Her favorite pastime was her monthly dinners with “The Wednesday Night Girls,” Colleen, Jane, Sue, Jeanie, Kathy, and Terri.
The most important thing to Patty was her family. She loved spending holidays with her nephew, Bobby, and his family; as well as many family gatherings with her dear cousins Jane Gildone, Colleen Baskin, and the late Vicki Heinonen, and their families. Her greatest joy was “hanging out” and playing board games with her favorite girls, Lexie and Maci.
Patty is survived by her brother, Richard (Nancy) Gifford, nephew, Bobby (Darlene) Gifford, great nieces Lexie and Maci, sisters-in-law, Karen Gifford and Robyn Gifford, stepchildren, Dino Mauri, Pat Mauri, Gina (Ron) Ulery, and Marlana (Charles) Owen, grandchildren, Nicole (Tim) Tanis, Alex Mauri, and Sofia Mauri, great grandson, Oliver Tanis, uncle, Ben McCluskey, and her dearest friend, Vickie Coachman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Pasqual “Sonny” Mauri in 2011, and her brother, Rick Gifford in 2021.
Patty’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to “Patty’s Girls” – Vickie Coachman, Robyn Gifford, Tiffany McCluskey, Maggie Bimle and baby Layla, and Kylee Burckhartte for the love, support, comfort, and 24-hour care they provided, allowing Patty to spend her last weeks at home.
Graveside services for family and close friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Glenwood Cemetery, West Main Road, Conneaut, OH., with Deacon Nick Iarocci officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League.
