Paulette (Pape) Osborne-Hillyer

Paulette Osborne-Hillyer, 71, of Conneaut, passed away Friday morning, March 27, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born October 17, 1948 in Conneaut and was the daughter of Albert Pape and Grace (Kovacs) Roberti.

Paulettes compassionate spirit and dedication earned her the Ashtabula County’s Senior of the Year Award for 2018. Her love for cooking carried into her career serving many years at Conneaut Giant Eagle. After its closing, she went on to work in dietary at UH Conneaut Medical Center until she retired October 4, 2016. She was a member of New Leaf United Methodist Church, Tops Ohio #971, and a Hospice volunteer. She enjoyed baking, cooking, knitting, and sewing, and blessed countless others with her creations.

Paulette was strong in her faith in Jesus Christ and that never wavered. She said countless times that she hoped that through her, others faith will grow and be strengthened.

Paulette took great pride in her work and made lifelong friends who she cherished dearly, nothing made her happier than time spent with friends and family, most over a cup of coffee at her favorite spot in her kitchen overlooking the lake. Family was very important to her and she took great pleasure in hosting and organizing family get togethers, including Coffee Sunday’s, and her annual 4th of July picnic.

Survivors include the light of her life, her beloved and devoted husband Hughie, who she was married 31 years of the most glorious years of their lives; her children whom she was their greatest supporter and biggest cheerleader, her daughter April Osborne of Conneaut; her sons Chris (Sandy) Osborne of Conneaut, and Craig (Erin) Hillyer of Madison; and her grandchildren, who she loved dearly and spoiled beyond belief, Olivia Hillyer, McKienze Hillyer, Ryan Osborne, Kate Osborne, Nick Osborne, and Maci Osborne.

She is also survived by her sister Sheila (Dave) Jury of Conneaut, and twin sister Paula (Ron) Roberts of Conneaut; and brothers Gary (Melanie) Pape of Conneaut, and Philip (Lynn) Pape of Kingsville; and several nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Chuck Osborne; and her brother Albert P. Pape.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all those who supported us thru Paulettes illness. Words cannot express how thankful we are for all that everyone has done to help.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday May 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the New Leaf United Methodist Church, 110 Gateway Ave., Conneaut, Ohio 44030.
