Raymond L. McLaughlin, 82 of Ashtabula, OH, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024, surrounded by his family in Ashtabula, OH. He was born in Youngstown, OH, September 11, 1941, the son of Pearl and Raymond K. McLaughlin.
Raymond was an avid conservationist and musician. Joining the official United States Navy Band out of Washington D.C., Raymond played the tenor saxophone for twenty years, getting the opportunity to play for multiple presidents of the United State and Dignitaries of the world.
In addition to his love for music, Raymond also had an insatiable taste for the various cuisines of the world, enjoying delectable foods while in the Navy Band. He cared greatly for his family, spending all the time he could with them.
Preceding him in death are his parents Raymond and Pearl, and life-long partner Yoshiko McLaughlin.
He is survived by his only son, John McLaughlin, and two grandchildren Kinsey and Talia McLaughlin.
