Renae Lillie Obituary

Renae Lillie, 84 passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

She was born September 20, 1937 in Albion PA, the daughter of Harrison and RoJean (Roberts) Rogers. Renae graduated from Moravian Seminary for Girls in Bethlehem, PA., Class of 1954 and attended Sarah Lawrence College for a year before her marriage to Leonard J Lillie of Pierpont, Ohio in 1956.

As a young couple, Renae and Len lived in Conneaut where they raised their two children, Stephen Lillie and Lisa (Muskal) Lillie. Renae contributed to the community life in many ways. She was a librarian at Chestnut Street Elementary School introducing reading programs like Junior Great Books. She was known for her leading roles in community plays in the 60’s including “My Fair Lady”, “South Pacific”, “The King and I” and other Straw Hat Theatre productions in Ashtabula.

She returned to college and obtained her BA degree from Kent State University graduating cum laude. After receiving her degree, she worked for several local organizations such as Goodwill, the United Way, Ashtabula County Community Action and finally as the Director of Human Resources at Millennium Chemicals in Ashtabula.

During their sunset years, Renae loved to travel with Len and enjoyed volunteer work for Hospice and the Community Soup Center.  She participated in and taught Yoga and Meditation and was a certified Reiki master.  In her later years, she was also actively involved in the Anamcara Project (the Sacred Art of Living).   She was passionate about healthy living and being active whether it was walking the beach and surrounding areas, swimming at the YMCA, participating in Triathlons, cross country skiing and exercising at Snap Fitness.

In the years after Len had passed, she made new friendships and nurtured old ones as well. Renae was a thriving, motivated and loving woman who shared her talents, love for life and appreciation of this beautiful world we live in.  She will continue to be a source of inspiration to all who knew and loved her, both family and friends. Her family includes Stephen Lillie, his wife, Keri along with Steve’s children, Colleen Renae (Joey Runyan) and Patrick Harrison (Liz), and their mother, Pamula Rice Lillie.  Lisa (Muskal) Lillie, her husband, Norman along with their children, (Marc (Adina) Muskal, Micah (Batya) Muskal, Max (Sharon) Muskal, Moshe Muskal, Joseph (Kayla) Muskal, Rena Richelson (Eliyahu) and Meira Muskal. She is survived by 9 Grandchildren, and 15 Great Grandchildren. She has been a source of Love and Light to all who knew and loved her.
