Robert W. Allshouse, 93, a resident of The Villa at the Lake of Conneaut, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 27, 2021. He was born on November 29,1927 in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Harold and Mabel Allshouse.
After graduating in 1947 from Conneaut High school, Bob served in the us Air Force for four years. He married his high school sweetheart, Norma Specht at St Mary’s Church on August 30, 1950. Together, Bob and Norma raised eight children.
Bob owned and operated "The Sportsman," a sporting goods store in Conneaut for many years. He was very involved with the local youth CLYO group and volunteered a great deal of his time to that organization. Bob also coached and refereed sports teams in the area for over 20 years.
He was past commander of American Legion Cowle Post #151. Bob served two terms as the city treasurer in the mid-seventies.
Prior to returning to his birthplace, Bob and his family lived in Englewood, Florida for almost 40 years.
He loved talking and reminiscing with just about anyone. Bob Enjoyed helping others and would always go out of his way to help anyone in need.
One of Bobs biggest accomplishments was being a loving husband and father. He was always there for his children. He loved history, dancing, had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He always had a smile on his face and kindness in his heart.
Robert is survived by his wife Norma, children, Michael and Cheryl Allshouse, Daniel and Anna Allshouse, Rex and Vikki Allshouse, Beth and Joseph Weber, Robert and Kali Allshouse, and Janet and Joe Hayes. He is also survived by a sister, Eveland Danforth; and by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in Death by his parents, oldest daughter Sharon Louise in 2020; his youngest daughter Rebecca Lynn in 2017; and his brother Charles Allshouse.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at St Mary Catholic Church, 480 State St., Conneaut. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Cowle Post #151.
