Robert A. Cole, 91, of Monroe Township, passed away early Friday morning, December 10, 2021 at Ohman Family Living at Briar Hill, Middlefield, OH. He was born June 15, 1930 in Conneaut, the son of Arthur and Josephine (Anderson) Cole.
Mr. Cole graduated from Rowe High school, class of 1948, and entered into the United States Army where he served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he married Rachel Anne Wheeler and began his career as a plastering contractor at CJ Rhoads for 11 years and later began his own company Robert A. Cole Plastering. He, along with his brother Walt and brother-in-law Jim, plastered many homes in the area and was still working well into his eighties. He was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post #151, lifelong member of the Federated Church in East Springfield, and the served as trustee for many years. He also served on the board for the WLD Ranch.
Mr. Cole enjoyed camping and traveling with his family. He volunteered every week at both the WLD Ranch and the Federated Church. He also helped his children with many home projects. He loved renovating homes and built several homes too, including the two homes his family lived in and his son’s home. He was a kind and caring man and a man of deep faith in Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his daughter Bobbi (Mark) Wiseman of Bradford, OH; his son Ronald (Bridget) Cole of Chardon, OH; grandchildren Kelsey (Adam) Steveley, Allison (Treavor) Dodsworth, Daniel Wiseman, Mitchell Cole, Mason Cole, Regan Cole, Jack, Kate, and Quin Cole; great-grandchildren Sadie and Caroline Steveley, and Wesley Dodsworth; sisters Pauline Terrill and Nancy Kotnick; brothers Walter (Janet) Cole, and Gary (Betty) Cole; and his fiancée Linda Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Rachel; his great-granddaughter Audrey Steveley; his sister Charlotte Loomis; and brother-in-laws Alfred Terrill, Jim Loomis, and John Kotnick.
Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon, Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Federated Church of East Springfield, PA, with visitation being held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Burial will follow in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe Township, OH with military honors provided by the American Legion Cowle Post #151.
Masks are recommended at the services.
Contributions may be made to the Federated Church or the WLD Ranch. Envelopes will be at the services or at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, who is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
