Robert "Bob" Koons

Robert (Bob) Koons, 67, of Landers, California, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Bob was a 1974 graduate of Conneaut (Ohio) High School where he ran cross country and served as the sports editor for the school newspaper. Upon graduation, he attended Kent State University before working for the Astatic Corporation.

Later Bob served in the United States Marine Corps and Army Reserves specializing in electronics repair and communication systems. He continued his work as a government contractor in the same field where he retired this spring after 27 years of service.

Bob was an avid sports fan and baseball card collector. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golf, a few beers with friends, and his dogs. He was an officer of the Landers Moose Lodge #1788.

Bob never met a stranger and was known for his vast array of stories, jokes, and quick wit.

Survivors include his son Jackson (Juliette) Koons; stepchildren Amanda, Max, and Alex; sisters Patricia (Cary) Sturm, and Cindy (Jim) Richardson; and brother Larry Koons.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Irene (Williams) Koons.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
