Robert Lovejoy Obituary

Robert Lee Lovejoy, 69, of Conneaut, passed away October 24, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Erie, PA. He was born January 13, 1954 in Erie, PA., the son of Wayne and Joan (Sorenson) Lovejoy.

Better known as Bob to his friends, he was loved and admired by all who knew him. He joined the United States Army in 1971 and was discharged in 1980. He re-enlisted and remained until his retirement in 1994. Bob was an MP for most, if not all of his Army days. He served in Korea as part of the Peacekeeping Force at Panmunjom. He had tours in Germany and Turkey. After he retired from active duty, he joined the Kansas City Police force.

Bob moved back in ’97 after his divorce and held many jobs, security at Hamot, a nurse’s aide, construction, and a brief stint in sales. He was an avid animal lover, he was “owned” by a succession of dogs and cats.

Always ready to help others, and although quiet by nature, he had a great sense of humor. An Avid reader, he had an inquisitive mind, and reading was one of his greatest joys.

Bob will be missed.

Survivors include his best friend Twila Dewey; his daughter Shannon Lovejoy; and his ex-wife Patty Amann both of Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Wayne and sister Rose.

At Bob’s request, no services will be held. Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, are honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
