Robert W. “Bob” Wheeler, 77, of Ashtabula, died Monday, August 17, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic. Robert was born on May 5, 1943 in Conneaut, OH, the son of Franklin D. and Ida A. (Huston) Wheeler.
He was a 1961 graduate of Rowe High School. Robert married Margery A. McCroskey on July 11, 1964. He retired from Millennium Inorganic Chemicals as a maintenance mechanic in 2005 following forty years of employment. Robert loved his family, reading, his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and working in the yard and his workshop.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brother David F. (Catherine) Wheeler; and his grandson Paul Griffin in 2019.
Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years; his daughters Dawn R. (Jason Smith) Wheeler and Cheryl A. (Ralph Lewis) Wheeler; his grandchildren Tiffany M. (Daniel) Drumm, and Corey R. (Abby Beal) Hill; and his great-grandson Liam D. Drumm. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Mariana) McCroskey and Sally McCroskey, three nieces and two nephews and families.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
