Ronald W. Lipps, Sr., 83, of Conneaut, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2022 at the Kremer Home, Conneaut, OH. He was born December 22, 1939 in New Lyme, OH, the son of Henry and Inez (Garwood) Lipps.
Ronald enlisted in the United States Army serving in Germany. After his honorable discharge, he returned home to work for Linde Wire, formerly called L-Tec, until an industrial accident in 1988.
Ronald volunteered for the North Kingsville Fire Department and at one time had been Captain. He was instrumental in getting the Poore Rd. Fire Station up and going.
He enjoyed dogs, especially collies, going to garage sales, gardening, Cleveland Sports, and all of his grandchildren’s sports. He was a hard worker, holding two or three jobs at a time.
Survivors include his sons Bill (Sheri Swiger) Lipps, of Conneaut, Michael Carr of Jefferson; daughters Danielle Lipps of Knoxville, and Shari (Pete) Fitchet of N. Kingsville, his brother Gary (Carol) Lipps of Jefferson; grandchildren Andy (Tessa) Lipps, Emily Lipps, Matthew Fitchet, Ashley Barnes, Alexis Carr, and Amber Branham and Billy, Jackie, and Tyler Kirk; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Cheryl Lipps in 2011; daughters Traci Armstrong and Jacqueline Lipps; grandson Ryan Kirk; sisters Barbara Tussell and Nancy Burlingame.
At Ronalds request, private services will take place at Hayes Cemetery, Wayne Township.
