RoseMarie "Rosey" (Peres) Kategianes

RoseMarie “Rosey” Kategianes, 76, of Conneaut, went home to Jesus on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Rosey was born on January 28, 1944 in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Louis and Florence (Miczikus) Peres.

She graduated from Tech Memorial in 1961. Rosey worked for several years at Erie Technological Products. She and her loving husband Tim, of 40 years, were married on Halloween at the Church of Christ in Conneaut in 1980. Rosey was a dedicated military wife, and accompanied Tim during his career at various posts in the U.S. Army. She traveled all over Europe to Paris, Frankfurt, Karlovy Vary, Amsterdam, Nuremberg, and to her dream destination Venice Italy during Carnival. She supported Tim during three combat tours during his 26 years of service, and was an active member of the Officer’s Wives Club.

Rosey became a real estate agent and broker, and an insurance broker in North Carolina while her family was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She dearly loved her family, and was very close to her grandson Ryan, whom she helped raise. She especially enjoyed her animals, music, NASCAR, spending time with her family and close friends, and was always ready to lend a listening ear or helping hand to anyone in need.

She was a strong and beautiful soul who loved everyone. She brought Love and Light everywhere she went. She has found eternal peace with Jesus.

Survivors include her loving husband Tim, her loving daughter Rochelle (Keith) Brookins of NC.; and loving grandchildren, Ryan, Shari, James, and Samantha; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Victor Peres and his wife Cindy, her very dear friend; and several  nieces and nephews, most of whom reside in Erie, PA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son Robert “Bobby” Alexander; her brother Cornell Peres; and her sister Florence Mork.

Private funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. Services will be livestreamed on the Marcy Funeral Home Facebook page for those unable to attend. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
