Sara Irene (Bockius) Rowe

Sara I Rowe, 85 formally from Ashtabula passed away Wednesday June 15, 2022 at the Villa at the Lake, Conneaut.  She was born August 19, 1936 in New Castle, Pa, the daughter of John and Elva (Powers) Bockius.

Sara drove school bus for Buckeye Local School District and for the blind and deaf school in Columbus, Ohio. 

She was involved in 4-H, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Buckeye music boosters.  She was very involved with the East Side Presbyterian Church, teaching Sunday School, Deaconess and many church activities.    She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, boating, the beach, camping, and snowmobiling.

Survivors include her children, Randy (Kelly) Rowe, Jodi Rowe, and Kim Rowe Kerns; grandchildren, Brittney Ingold, Benjamin Rowe, Rodney Craven Kerns and Chance Kerns; great-grandchildren Logan and Grayson; nephew Jim (Dottie) Jianacristoforo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rodney C.; son Rodney J. and a siblings, William and John Bockius, Helen Jianacristoforo, and stepsister Jane Sands.

Private service will be held at Oak Park Cemetery in New Castle.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve or the American Diabetes Association.

The arrangements have been entrusted to the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
