Scott J. “Scotty” Johnson, 29, of Monroe Township, passed away Sunday October 6, 2024. He was born May 4, 1995, the son of Scott and Sara (Yako) Johnson.
Scotty graduated from A-Tech and Jefferson High School. He worked for Kinder Morgan as a heavy equipment operator. Scotty loved his job and everyone he worked with.
Most people knew Scotty as “Bubba”. He had the most amazing laugh and contagious smile. He was a past member of 4-H and enjoyed hunting, farming, golfing, loved being a heavy equipment operator and spending time with his best friend and dog, Buddy. Scotty always loved being outside and could always be found tinkering and working on his farm. Bubba was the life of the party, loved to dance, and was the ultimate jokester. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Everyone that knew Bubba loved his happy and outgoing personality.
Survivors include his parents, Scott and Sara Johnson; grandmother, Martha Yako of Sheffield; sister, Kayla (EJ) Laughlin of N. Kingsville; brother Ryan Johnson of Monroe Township; nephew Denver; very close cousin and friend, Cory (Tanya) Kibler of Lordstown; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous close friends. He will also be missed by his best dog, Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Yako; paternal grandparents, Marge and Dick Johnson; and Aunt Rita Kibler.
Visitation will be Monday, October 14, 2024 at 3:00pm to 8:00pm at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH 44030.
Scotty will be cremated and laid to rest at a later date with his family by his side.
Contributions may be made to the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
