Terrance Hammer Obituary

Terrance J. Hammer, 81, of Kingsville, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 surrounded by his family at University Hospital in Cleveland, OH. He was born February 21, 1943 in Ashtabula, the son of Harry Hammer and Wanda (Cain) Fox.

Terrance graduated from Harbor High School and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Ashtabula. He worked for CEI, retiring in 1994 as control operator. Terrance had an enormous love for the outdoors, he enjoyed trapping, hunting, and fishing, but most of all, the memories made teaching his grandchildren how to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed raising labs, classic cars, going to car shows, and setting off fireworks for the 4th of July. He loved having holiday dinners with his family, but was a stickler of table manners, becoming a teddy bear after the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came.

Survivors include his wife Susan (Tucker) Hammer whom he married December 6, 1963; daughters Tonya (Chris) Sperduto of Ashtabula, and Terri (Butch) Eaton of Conneaut, son Harry “Bill” (Alice Lane) Hammer of Andover; grandchildren Jaime Sheldon, Jessica Dames, Nicholas Eaton, Ryan Keel, Kayla Hammer, Katelynn Hammer, Nathan Eaton, Harry Hammer, Evan Boylen, and Alex Sperduto; and great-grandchildren Sophia, Kaden, Austin, Kaleb, Karter, Landon, Levi, Delilah, Savannah, Ashton, Noah, and Benson. Also surviving is his sister Cheryl (Roger) Imrie of Ashtabula; and brothers David (Debbie) Fox of Southport, NC, and Jeff (Lori) Fox of Cleveland; and many nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Omer Fox; and sister Denise Fox.
