Thomas W. Hergenroeder

Thomas W. Hergenroeder, Sr. 85 of Elyria and formerly of Ashtabula passed away Saturday January 16, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born May 13, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio.  He was the son of Joseph & Magdelena (Schreiner) Hergenroeder. 

He retired from Ohio Rubber Co. as a Plant Foreman.  Thomas liked to stay busy and worked for Walmart as a greeter for ten years.

Thomas enjoyed Cleveland Professional sports & Ohio State sports teams, he loved going to his grandkids sporting events, he also loved puzzles, drawing and painting.

Survivors include his wife of forty seven years Alma (Frishkorn) whom he married August 4, 1973 in Conneaut; children, Thomas (Vicki) Hergenroeder, Julie (Keith) Levy, Jason (Christina) Hergenroeder; Jennifer (Jennifer) Hergenroeder; grandchildren, Angela, Anthony, Nathan, Dylan, Leah and one on the way; great-grandson, Connor; sibling Rose Marie Shelley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Marie Elizabeth “Betty” Gensler, Lois Sustar & Herbert Hergenroeder

Private family service will be held at Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty, St., Conneaut.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut at a later date

Memorial contributions in Thomas’s name may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  This was a charity and mission that he felt very strongly about.
